Garden oasis, on the River Walk  
Imagine an evening of lively conversation with friends or clients, accompanied by good food, spirits and music set in a century-old French Chapel or in a large garden under grand trees. Here, hidden quietly away in the heart of downtown San Antonio, lies a tranquil oasis on the banks of the romantic San Antonio River.

For generations, the beautiful, historic facilities of the Southwest School of Art & Craft have provided the perfect setting for parties, dinners, lectures, meetings, and weddings.

The Gothic chapel with two landscaped gardens, or an historic dining hall, are available for rental on the Ursuline Campus, while additional conference, meeting or reception space is available at the Navarro Campus.

Site visits prior to making a reservation are highly recommended. So popular are our historic gardens and buildings, in fact, that early reservations are strongly suggested.

With stairs leading down to a river landing, the flagstone paving of the First Academy gardens accommodates a wide variety of social entertainment options, within an overarching sense of gracefulness and serenity.

The historic Coates chapel, dating from the late 1800s but updated with modern light and temperature controls, has been the site of numerous weddings, concerts, and social events throughout the years.
Overlooking a quiet section of the River Walk, the Gazebo has been the joyous frame for many celebrations.
