RE:Marks - Dennis Olsen
November 2nd - January 7th 2007

Re:Marks, the title of this exhibition by UTSA Art Faculty member Dennis Olsen, looks to iconography for its inspiration. Olsen works with fragmented text and letterforms which he has found, often on the internet, that once were part of ancient languages. These letterforms, along with more recognizable modern ones, are then used as images on prints or porcelains, invoking the magical power of the written word even when it’s abstracted.
