2004 Gala and Art Sale
A Japanese Garden blossomed on October 7, 2004, as more than 650 art lovers gathered for the annual Gala & Art Sale. Co-Chairs Lou Celia and Don Frost, and Andi and Dr. Rick Rodriguez, oversaw this honoring of the creative heritage of Japan. The event incorporated origami cranes, Ikebana flower arrangements, specially designed mons (symbols) to designate the art departments of the school, and an original signature stamp or “chop” that signifies ‘creativity.’ Proceeds raised by the Gala and the art sale of donated works contribute to the many on-going programs of the Southwest School -- and are thus very appreciated.
