Studio facilities are comparable to many university-level facilities. A majority of current and adjunct faculty hold MFA degrees. A certificate program is available to individuals desiring a focused, professional course of study.

This last class meant, to me, freedom, community, affirmation, wonder, regaining spirit…a great learning experience.

For me, class is the best day of the week.

The workshop was 3 days of intense learning combined with philosophy of living creatively…worth every penny and more.

Thirty-five years in the making, the Southwest School of Art & Craft has become a nationally recognized art school that meets the needs of hobbyists, beginning ingénues, and accomplished artists equally. The faculty and the fees remain accessible - many of the former are well-known artists in the community - making SSAC a shoe-in for both the CURRENT's Critics and Readers picks for Best of 2004. The campus, which has carefully remodeled and maintained the grounds of historic downtown Ursuline Academy, features traveling art shows throughout the year, along with exhibits of local practicing artists such as the Ken Little retrospective last fall. The annual student show, held each spring, offers recurring evidence that whether you're studying printmaking, photography, or good old fashion painting, SSAC is the best investment in town. EW
